Just two days ago I finally find a solution to the problem of connecting my WM6 emulator and my SQL Server 2005 ... then today, out of nowhere, I came across this error when trying to install my application on the emulator from VS2008:

After reading a dozen articles that spoke from changing registry values \u200b\u200bin the emulator, to install some safety certificates and so on, I found my own solution: making a Soft reset the emulator!

So it meets the highest peak of computing: when something does not work, restart!

WM: A new light on the problem "SQL Server not found" VS2008

After nearly four years of starting my first project with Windows Mobile ... and discover the grim reality of how difficult it can be to get the Windows Mobile emulator to connect to an instance of SQL Server running on your computer, FINALLY, I found something that seems to solve the problem definitively.

For those who are just beginning to run into this situation, or for those who already have suffered and still do not understand what the problem, here is what I learned in these four years

1. You must disable Windows Firewall or at least make sure you are not blocking the port you are using SQL Server, usually 1433.

2. Please make sure your instance of SQL Server, especially if it is an Express version, be prepared to accept remote connections. In Google's easy to find the steps to enable this.

3. If by chance you have multiple SQL Server instances running simultaneously on your computer unattained that the emulator is connected. 5. In order to connect to SQL Server from the emulator without having to cradle, you must install on your computer the Microsoft Loopback Adapter and then configure the emulator's network card to connect to that adapter.
